In May 2022 Marin County adopted an Ordinance to ban single-use plastic food ware.
The Ordinance uses the hierarchy: reusables are best, compostable fiber food ware is compliant, and single-use plastics are prohibited.
Reducing the amount of disposable items we consume is not only better for the environment, it also reduces the amount of litter in the community and lowers the amount of greenhouse gas inputs used to produce the disposable product in the first place.
