After a year off, we are excited the State Tournament is back! Best of luck to all the teams as round robin play begins this weekend.

As play-in games conclude, please continue to check the brackets for up-to-date team match-ups, scores and standings as we move into round robin play and championship weekends. Congratulations to the Senators hockey club on winning the Central Illinois State Championship. This is the first time in Senator hockey club history the team made it to the final 4. This season’s club is composed of players from Athens, Southeast, Rochester and Springfield High Schools.

A big thank you to all the participating teams – Sacred Heart Griffin, Champaign, Decatur and Springfield High Schools. The team management and parents were just great and we had no issues at all. The folks from the McLean County Sharks were wonderful – again. Even though they were not in the event, they were the greatest and we had more than enough volunteers. Dave Cheley and his “crew” were also fantastic, thank you all for making this event a success!

Congratulations to the young men and women named to AHAI's 2022 Boys and Girls High School All-State Teams. Players will receive a team jersey, awards and they will be recognized at an upcoming Chicago Blackhawks home game.

AHAI, along with the Chicago Blackhawks, announce the 2022 Illinois State High School Hockey Championships will be played at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville on Sunday, March 13, 2022. The event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. with the Boys Junior Varsity State Championship game followed by the Boys Combined Varsity State Championship at 1:00 p.m., the Boys Red Varsity State Championship at 4:30 p.m., and then closing the event will be the Illinois Girls State Championship at 8:00 p.m. Tickets for the event are $5 for an Adult, $3 for a Senior, and $2 for Kids.

Girls Tier II Play-in games are almost complete. The Round Robin brackets posted on the AHAI website have the correct dates & game times for the correct age divisions but do NOT have the correct team match-ups. The correct team match-ups for each age division have been sent to the Organization/Team contacts for each age level & each team. Please check with your Team Manager and or Coach.

Remember that ALL teams MUST wear the appropriate equipment, neck guards, ear guards and mouth guards at the appropriate level. Manage misconducts and game misconducts accordingly, officials and players safety is number one concern. Should you have a reportable penalty please report it ASAP.
