Caravel Academy - DIAA D2 Dual-Team Wrestling Champions

(3rd straight championship - 2022, 2020, 2019)
Dover, DE  (February 13, 2022) – The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) Dual-Team Wrestling Championship was held yesterday at Smyrna High School and the D1 and D2 champions were crowned. Cape Henlopen won their first ever Dual-Team Wrestling D1 state championship and Caravel Academy won their third straight D2 championship.

Caesar Rodney def. Salesianum, 37-34
D2:

Caravel Academy def. Lake Forest, 75-6

Delaware Military Academy def. Laurel, 45-21

DIAA would like to thank the quarterfinal round host sites for organizing and running the Dual-Team Wrestling Championship. DIAA would also like to thank Smyrna High School for hosting the championship and providing a great experience for everyone involved. DIAA is most appreciative of all of the tournament workers, Delaware Wrestling Officials Association, and the DIAA State Wrestling Committee members for providing the energy and manpower required for a successful state championship. A special thank you to DIAA Wrestling Committee Chair Buddy Lloyd for the high level of organization that leads to such a smooth-running operation. It is thanks to the efforts of all of these unselfish professionals that our participating student-athletes have such a positive and memorable experience.
