The 12 Days of Christmas Lyrics and Meaning of Each Gift
Why were these 12 days important? These dozen days were tied to more than just the teaching of the Catholic Church. A host of other denominations also celebrated the 12 days of Christmas. Some denominations celebrated Christmas in January and began to count the 12 days then. But whenever they began, the counting of the days became an important facet of each holiday season. Even in the Dark Ages, in some Eastern European churches, the 12 days of Christmas meant attending daily church services. For Christians who lived during this extremely difficult age, the 12 days were a time of rededication and renewal. It was also a period when small, simple, and usually symbolic gifts of faith were given to children. Thus, in both coded poems and public worship, the twelve days were considered a holy period.
The 12 Days of Christmas - Christmas Carol Meaning and Origin
"The Twelve Days of Christmas" is an English Christmas carol that lists a group of increasingly superb gifts given on each of the 12 days of Christmas (the 12 days that make up the Christmas season, starting with Christmas Day).

Robert & Betty Lindsey Columbus,Georgia
Thanks so much for all your prayers, calls, texts and emails. Robert is home and improving. He is able to put weight on his leg and hip and is walking with a walker. He also has a feeding tube because he is having issues swallowing. But, since getting home with his beloved Betty he is gaining his strength. Home Health Care, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy are coming to the house. Hopefully he is on the way to recovery.
Betty fell coming up their driveway while retrieving the recycle bin. She broke her knee cap. She is in a cast from the knee up. Hopefully it will heal without surgery. She is also on a walker.
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Thanks!
Peggy
