For quite some time now, the New Hampshire Hub Auditors have been running compliance checks for delinquent tax payments and insurance violations. This has been done to try to help prevent these issues from arising at the DMV level, resulting in a rejection or Title Only transaction.
Please take a look at the following tips when reviewing Connecticut transactions.
Outstanding tax violations
Connecticut DMV is unable to process any vehicle registration for any individual/business with an outstanding tax violation with a town or city at the time of registration. The owner must have the town or city clear the violation in order to proceed; the DMV is unable to clear the violation in their system. A paper tax release will not be accepted.
Unresolved insurance fine violations
The DMV is unable to register a new vehicle or renewal transaction for any vehicle owner with an unresolved insurance fine violation until the fine is paid and the violation is cleared. Payment at the DMV is acceptable to clear the violation.
Compliance violations at the time of registration
There is no guarantee that compliance issues will not arise at the time of processing. It is recommended that you check the owner’s compliance before document submission. If the owner is found to have a compliance violation at the time of registration, please resubmit the deal as a Title Only. Connecticut will otherwise reject the deal until the compliance has been cleared. Compliance for Connecticut can be checked online here.
