What's New at FEF?

New President!  New Logo!

Introducing Ellen Hewett

FEF 's new President is Ellen Hewett, seen here with her beloved Sophie. Ellen is a seasoned educator (and dog lover) who has served on the FEF Board for ten years. She has been a vital member of every Board Committee, with special focus on governance and policy. With a long career of leadership in adult education at Springfield College and for World Education, an international nonprofit, and as a consultant to many higher education institutions, Ellen has consistently guided FEF to expand in new directions. Ellen succeeds long time Falmouth educator and mediator Alan Jacobs.

New Logo

With this fall grantee update, FEF introduces its new logo! We hope it communicates the vibrancy and focus on growth that are such important parts of who we are and what we do.

Teacher Opportunity Mini Grants

Already this fall over 50 mini-grants have been awarded to teachers at every Falmouth public school.

Chris Archer, ceramic artist from New Hampshire, met with Corine Adam's ceramic students to demonstrate how to anchor one's posture to make centering clay on the potters wheel more successful and how to change the form of wheel thrown vessels. And students appraise the results!

For those who have received grants, remember to submit your receipts for your grant and complete a brief report. Mini-grants, up to $350, are available through May for unanticipated educational opportunities. You may receive up to three grants a year.
