Greetings!
The change of seasons is our gift from Mother Nature. Fall happens so suddenly and magically with the change of colors and temperatures cooling. It just feels good and right. As we move along, we can physically see the earth preparing for winter.
Seasons of change is what we all experience, some much greater than others. We are proud to be here for those experiencing a difficult season in their lives.
We are so grateful to you and the Texoma community for supporting our life-changing work.
Wishing you and yours a blessed holiday season!
Please take a few minutes to catch up with us.
With Gratitude,
Brenda Hayward
Executive Director

An Ode to Autumn, the Season of Change and New Beginnings
by Kinga Lewandowska
September knocks on our door and time suddenly slows down a bit. Autumn lets herself into our lives with crisper air, fresh perspective, and a few stranded leaves. As the harbinger of change and transformation, it resets our inner clocks, inspiring us to reevaluate our dreams, aspirations, goals, intentions, plans, habits, and every other element on which we build our realities. Fall is our cue to consider starting anew. Perhaps the next phase is long overdue? Trust the magic of new beginnings – such is the message of Mother Nature this particular season.
Autumn is a brilliant mindfulness teacher, spend some quality alone time with her. While anchoring us in the present moment, this season also encourages reminiscence. Look back on your life, dive into memories for a while, find what you can feel grateful for in your past. Remember when as a kid you used to jump into heaps of dry leaves in a park? How fun was that? Two Ways to Give:
Giving Tuesday and Amazon Wishlist
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, the idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
Generosity gives everyone the power to make a positive change in the lives of others and is a fundamental value anyone can act on.
This Giving Tuesday, CFGC is emphasizing opportunities to give to Texoma children and families in a safe way that allows for social connection and kindness. You can donate directly through our website by clicking here or you can purchase items from our Amazon Wishlist by clicking here. Items will be used at our office with clients.

Sisters of Service Providing Thanksgiving Dinners to CFGC Clients
Due to the efforts of the Sisters of Service (SOS), several of our clients and their families living in poverty, were blessed with a delicious Thanksgiving dinner this year.
SOS donated all the food and fixings for Thanksgiving dinner to 13 families in need. We are so honored and thankful that SOS has supported us and our clients through the years.
The SOS, along with our clinical director, met clients and their families at CFGC to deliver the food.
When offered the Thanksgiving meal, one client commented, "I didn't know how I was going to be able to buy food for Thanksgiving this year. Thank you so much."

Holiday Screen Time
Screens are part of everyday life as you text, scroll through social media, map a route, catch up on news, chat or shop online, relax with a video, and do so much more. Many adults spend 11 hours a day or more in front of a computer, phone, tablet, TV, or another type of screen.
Screens are also becoming a bigger part of life for young children. It's easy to let a fussy toddler play a game on your smartphone or turn on a preschooler's favorite video while you get dinner on the table. Screens are a source of education and entertainment for young children, not to mention a handy way to video chat with friends and family. Kids seem to adapt to screens at a very young age.
However, as a parent, you probably recognize that unlimited screen time is not a good idea for young children. How much screen time should you allow? How should you set screen time limits that work for your family? Setting boundaries for screen time is important for the entire family.
