"Together We Care" Monthly Newsletter
In March, our Caregiver Hub brings more workshops and initiates a Library Campaign for our caregivers. In this newsletter, we will announce our upcoming workshops, library catalog and rules. We are also sharing more community resources, as well as the loving flowers and recipes from our caregivers.

2022 March-April Workshops

In March, we resume in-person workshops and still run quite a few Zoom ones. We are presenting our first Punjabi/Hindi workshop series of Breath Work & Meditation to help Punjabi/Hindi-speaking caregivers relax and learn meditation in their mother language. More workshops will be confirmed for April and May.

On February 14, our caregiver Jane Lee donated 30 personalized bouquets to cheer up other caregivers and their loved ones through our Hub.

Our staff sent out some of the roses to caregivers and seniors who had appointments with community workers that day. And then the team went out and delivered the other roses to caregivers and seniors who live alone.

Cooking can be done with love and care. Let's see what our caregivers have prepared for their loved ones.
Government website has posted Canada's Food Guide including snapshot, healthy eating recommendations, recipes, tips and resources.

Learn more about food and nutrition including food recalls, safety standards, allergies and intolerances, how we monitor and measure food consumption.

And also, a Healthy Eating for Seniors Handbook is available in multiple languages online.
The deadline for most Canadians to file their federal income tax and benefit return is April 30, 2022. Because this date is a Saturday, your return will be considered filed on time if the CRA receives it or it is postmarked on or before May 2, 2022. Similarly, your payment will be considered made on time if it is received by the CRA or processed at a Canadian financial institution on or before May 2, 2022.

Distracted driving continues to be a leading contributing factor in fatal car crashes with more than a quarter of all car crash fatalities in BC involving distracted drivers. ICBC is launching this Distracted Driving Campaign in March.

Committed to helping Canadians rewild their neighborhoods, the David Suzuki Foundation is sharing a list of pollinator & native plant gardening resources in addition to its current website offerings. 

In 2022, its resident-led “Butterflyway Rangers” project enters its fourth year in Richmond to reimagine gardens, lawns, roadsides, parks and schoolyards as neighborhood-wide networks of habitat for wild bees and butterflies. Learn more
