This Summer’s AMOA-National Dart Association’s (NDA) Junior Tournament, held June 10-12, 2022 at the Courtyard Sioux City Convention Center Hotel in Sioux City, Iowa, significantly raised the bar on participation levels, with a record 346 players from nine states turning out for the three-day event.

Since 2014, NDA has been conducting an annual soft-tip darting event for players 18 or younger, and up until this year, there has been incremental growth in attendance.

A pent-up demand in the wake of the pandemic, combined with increased efforts by NDA and its charterholders to promote its youth program, resulted in an impressive 58 percent surge in player numbers over last year’s tournament.

A total of 21 NDA operator (charterholder) members were represented with players this year and the total number of certificates expanded to 778, which also equated to a 58 percent jump from the 2021 tourney in Wisconsin Dells, WI.

Featuring singles, doubles and mixed Youth-Adult Triples events, kids were awarded prizes—trophies and gift cards.   And all players received t-shirts to commemorate their participation in this year’s event.

Based on the strong enthusiasm in the tourney and keen interest in the sport, next year’s Junior Dart Tournament, set for June 9-11, 2023 at the Chula Vista Resort & Waterpark in Wisconsin Dells, WI, promises to be another stellar program.
