AKG Newsworthy NOLA
2022 #5
Saturday March 26, 2022
Our hearts are with the people of the Ukraine with the hope that this suffering can end for them. We are in the age of communication and war is no longer the resolution of evolved beings. May it end soon.

Arabi, a New Orleans community suffered tremendous tragedy after a 160 MPH tornado created destruction for 11 miles, 320 yards wide. It was the strongest tornado on record in New Orleans history. Send healing energy to the residents of Arabi, it's tragic.

On a positive note, Spring has arrived and with it hopefulness, freshness and a new lease on life. New Orleans feels alive and pulsing with the heartbeat that invites and sustains all of her residents and visitors. The streets are teaming with people and positive energy abounds. We are readying for festival season; French Quarter Fest opens April 21 - 23
and Jazz Fest runs April 29 - May 1 and May 4-7
Come get your beat on!

We have a rare installation of New Orleans Black Masking Indian suits from Chief Shaka Zulu of the Golden Feathers Hunters.
You don't want to miss it!
Please join us here or request a virtual tour,
we're happy to accommodate.

With gratitude for your continued support of the arts,

Black Masking Indians of New Orleans
April 14 - May 14
Shaka Zulu is Big Chief of the Golden Feather Hunters in New Orleans, Louisiana. Chief Shaka serves also as a lecturer on the rich history and culture of the New Orleans Black Masking Indian tradition and his suits are exhibited world wide. Each suit is a year long process of hand sewn craftsmanship, using the downtown three-dimensional techniques of masking Indian sewing. The mediums used are turkey quills, chalk beads, seed beads, sequin, stones and satin. Most of Chief Shaka’s works generally include an abstract theme, a nature theme, or an African theme sometimes all three combined.

There will be five suits on exhibition and available for acquisition.
