Congratulations to the 2022 WSCGA Player of the Year
Lea Venable

Upstate's Lea Venable had a consistent year on her way to securing her 2nd WSCGA Player of the Year Award (first in 2017). Lea won the 2022 Walton Horton and Jeanne Campbell WSCGA Match Play Championship over 8 time Player of the Year Dawn Woodard. Won the WSCGA Team Championship with partner Skye Two Hawks Skenadore. Finished T11th in the South Carolina Women's Open presented by The Town of Blythewood. T13th in the WSCGA State Amateur Championship, Qualified for the US Women's Mid-Am Championship, finished T9th in the Carolinas Four-Ball Championship, made it to Round of 32 in the Carolinas Match Play Championship, and finished 5th in the WSCGA/SCGA Mixed Team Championship. When Lea isn't playing, she is working for the family business with her husband, Shawn, at Electric Motor Service of Clinton Inc as the Accounts Manager and cheering for the Gamecocks!

Jayne Pardus

The Low Country's, Jayne Pardus is coming off an outstanding year of golf in 2022. Pardus represented South Carolina extremely well within the Carolinas, nationally and internationally finishing top 10 every time she teed it up. Starting her year off in January at theJones/Doherty Women's Senior Amateur Championship in FL making it to the Quarter-Finals. Then onto the Ladies National Amateur Senior in AZ finishing 8th. Preceding to finish T9th in the Women's Senior Amateur Championship in Scotland, 2nd Women's North and South Senior Amateur, Qualified for the US Women's Senior Open in OH, 3rd Carolina Women's Senior Amateur Championship, 2nd WSCGA Team Championship - Championship Division, and 6th in the WSCGA/SCGA Mixed Team Championship. When Jayne is not making birdies on the links she is watching her daughters, Elysse and Kaila, compete in NCAA D1 swimming, running swim meets, working on national decks for swim, and enjoying family time with her husband Dave and four kids. (sons are Dylan and Miles).

Annual Meeting, POY & SPOY Awards, and more

Registration is open for the 2023 State Representative meeting and awards ceremony on January 11th at Seawell's Catering Hall. We will be giving away a round of golf for 4 to the beautiful Caledonia Golf and Fish Club to a lucky person in attendance at Seawell's and participate in the WSCGA-JGF Raffle to junior golf. We have many options.... Meeting only, Meeting and Lunch, or Meeting via Zoom. All members are welcome! So sign up today!
