NOMINATION DEADLINE: MARCH 18, 2022
RMEL's Emerging Leader Award

RMEL's Emerging Leader Award recognizes and honors individual members who have made significant contributions within their organization, and have demonstrated the potential for leadership and outstanding service for the electric utility industry. The nominee must have no less than 5 years of experience, and no more than 10 year's experience within the industry.
Beyond the Award - Emerging Leader Award Recipient Benefits

Emerging Leader Award Winners are part of a dynamic group of future leaders who are introduced to the RMEL membership and recognized during the Spring Conference.  Those recipients are now part of a strong professional network of industry peers. In addition, these award winners are presented unique development opportunities. Each year, past and current Award Recipients participate in an exclusive development session with Keynote Speakers who facilitate an open conversation with our Emerging Leader group (in 2020, this session was virtual during the Fall Convention). Past sessions have featured time with Merril Hoge, Former NFL Star Running Back & Cancer Survivor; Commander Kirk S. Lippold, USN, who was the Commanding Officer of the USS Cole on October 12, 2000, when the ship was attacked and bombed by al-Qaeda terrorists; Mark Eaton, Former NBA All Star; and Tom Osborne, Hall of Fame Head Football Coach and Athletic Director, University of Nebraska and former Nebraska Congressman.

This award affords the next generation of leaders with exclusive professional development opportunities.
During the one-on-one session with the Emerging Leaders, Merril Hoge, Former NFL Running Back & Cancer Survivor, engaged in a professional development discussion, diving further into his story to help past and current Emerging Leader Award winners apply his methodologies for success to their quickly advancing careers.
