The St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee invites you to participate in Seattle's 50th Anniversary St Patrick's Day Parade being held on SUNDAY, March 13, 2022. The Parade starts at 1:00 pm from 4th Ave and James St in downtown Seattle, and travels north on 4th Ave, ending at Pine St and Westlake Park where the Reviewing Stand will be located.
The parade approval we received yesterday from the the City of Seattle permits us to hold the parade subject to certain covid restrictions appropriate for the health and safety of participants. Those restrictions are outlined on the Parade registration form.
Seattle's first official St Patrick's Day Parade was held on March 11, 1972 with John Doyle Bishop as Grand Marshal. The Seattle Times said about the celebration of St. Patrick's Day in 1972: The observances began Saturday with the city's first St. Patrick's Day parade, a rainy march from Westlake Mall to the United States Courthouse.
We hope you will join us for Seattle's 50th Anniversary St Patrick's Day Parade. There is no charge to participate unless you are a for-profit entity. However, all performing groups and/or organized marching groups (e.g., if carrying a banner) must register to participate by completing and submitting a Registration Form.
The Order of March and other instructions will be emailed the week prior to the Parade, but on the morning of the Parade, all marching groups should plan to start assembling no later than noon on 4th Avenue south of James. FYI - here's the 2019 Order of March.
If there's anything we can do to help make your participation easier, please don't hesitate to let us know by return. We would love to have you join us at this year's parade.
The Parade Chair is David Jacobsen and his cell # is 253-334-8383. Please don't hesitate to call David or John Keane (206-387-1970) with any questions or concerns, or let us know by return email.
