SPORTS AND EVENT UPDATES
Most sports will follow a schedule and format as in years’
past. However, here are a few sports and new venue updates to note:
- Franklin High School - (Note: new location)
We have secured a new home for athlete check-in, basketball, and track and field for which we are extremely grateful.
Located at 810 Hillsboro Road in Franklin, the school is not far from previous athlete check-in spots such as BGA and the Franklin Rec Center. This will be communicated extensively so that everyone arrives at the right location!
The archery tournament will again be administered and conducted through Music City Archery. Registration and payment will be collected directly through this organization.

Initial plans were to secure Two Rivers Golf Course, where we have played recently. Unfortunately, due to new management and the reduction of hosting tournaments at the course, this was not a possibility.
However, we are excited about acquiring Franklin Bridge Golf Club in Franklin! Formerly known as Forrest Crossing, new owners have renovated the course and clubhouse and are eager to host us on June 22nd and 23rd. Click this link for more information. Competition will again be held during a weekend time frame. The 50+, 55+, and 60+ divisions will play Saturday, June 25th and Sunday June 26th plus Friday evening if needed. The 65+, 70+, 75+, and 80+ age groups will start the afternoon of Sunday, June 26th and finish Monday the 27th. Games are slated for Franklin High School but additional venues are available if numbers warrant it.
Please pass this information to teams and friends who have previously been unable to play during the week.
The skill events of free throw, 3-point, and hot shot have been scheduled for Sunday, June 26th for ALL age groups. The general start time will be noon and exact start times per age group will be released after registration closes. Venue location will also be shared later once number of 3x3 basketball teams is known. It may be that championship games are still being played at Franklin High School. If so, skill events will be hosted at a different venue.
We are working on our 2022 races and would love your feedback. Our date for cycling will be Saturday, September 10 in Strawberry Plains.
Hosting the event in the Knoxville area, the home of the Race Day Events team, has offered us many advantages such as a quiet beautiful route and the use of additional equipment. Because it is a stand- alone event, they have reached out to offer the 10K time trial and 40K road race that day as well. We need to find out if there is interest as well as explore start times for each event. Please click this link to access a survey:

PARTY – a Family Reunion!
We have so missed hosting our athlete party the past two summers! So, get ready to enjoy being back together this year to rekindle and make new friendships amongst the TSO family.
Appropriately enough, our theme will be “family reunion”.
Join us at the Academy Park field (outdoors) where tents will be set-up, entertainment provided, and a meal shared! A committee will be meeting later this month to choose the date.
Tickets may be purchased when registering or may be added later once the date is set.
