Summer Camp 2022 January Newsletter

Dear unit leaders and summer camp coordinators,

I hope your 2022 is off to a good start. I know summer camp is many months away, but I wanted to provide some information regarding the summer camp fees. You can access the 2022 fee schedule here. Our fee structure includes three different discount tiers. Each family in your unit could pay a different amount based on when they pay you, and you in turn submit payment to the Washington Crossing Council. Our deepest discounted tier is available through February 28th. Let your families know so they can take advantage of this discount.

You can make multiple payments throughout the year for each discount deadline. Each payment should be accompanied by a transmittal. If you have any questions about the payment process, please reach out to Michelle Cathers via email or call 215-348-7205 x305.

Through the contributions of generous donors, the Council is able to offer a limited number of camperships which can cover up to 50% of the camp fees. The campership application is available here. The deadline for application is April 1st. The campership committee meets shortly thereafter to determine award amounts.

Our camp program director, Charley Kinsky, is working with area directors to update information for our leaders' guide and Merit Badge offerings. The goal is to have the first draft ready by the end of February. You can always reach out to Charley via email with any specific program questions.

We still have several positions available on our summer camp staff. If you have a Scout or Scouter who might be interested in working at Ockanickon, more information and an online application is available here. If you have any questions about specific positions or qualifications, please reach out to Charley via email.

Lastly, save the date for our online, virtual leaders meeting on Saturday, May 7th. We’ll go over the most up to date program, food service and COVID protocols.

As always, feel free to reach out to me with any questions via email or 215-348-7205 x318.

With regards,

Todd Warner

Council Camping Director
