I suppose, like the fishing boat Candace Sea at Hearts Delight in the photo above, that every boat meets with engine troubles somewhere along the way. It just feels tough when it happens to you.
I feel I have some fairly good news on the engine front. With lots of pushing from me over the last several days, we are making headway. I have hesitated to say too much at times because there has always been some other delay. However, as of mid-afternoon today, the engine is largely back together. All parts except a new head gasket are in hand and installed. As soon as the head gasket arrives, the head will go back on and the engine will then go back in the boat.
The original head gasket order seems to have gone astray in shipping. We ordered a second one from another supplier and it is being expedited. With fingers crossed, I am hoping it will be in hand by Monday. Jesse will then need a couple of days to reinstall the engine and get it up and running.
So, I truly hope to be on the move again before the end of next week. That will feel REALLY good! So, say a quick prayer to Neptune or St. Nicholas (patron saint of sailors in most of the world) or to the sea itself...
I like the photo below of three punts in Flatrock Harbour in front of Red Head; so, I thought I would include it.
