ECE REACH GRADUATION

Latina Leaders Rooted in Community!

In January 2023, Felton Institute, Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA), and Foothill College proudly launched the ECE REACH (Early Care and Education, Realizing Employment And Creating Hope) Apprenticeship Pilot.

Our goal is to tackle the early childhood educator crisis in San Francisco County and ensure the development of a new educator pipeline that meets the linguistic and cultural needs of the children we serve!

Our collective impact and two-generation strategy paved the way for the ECE REACH Tier I apprenticeship pilot. Crafted as an accelerated, entry-level career pathway, this groundbreaking and innovative program is specifically designed to empower Latinas, who have historically faced barriers in postsecondary education and employment. ECE REACH provides foundational support to Latinas, guiding them as both parents and professionals. The program enhances their knowledge, skills, and practices in child growth and development within ECE settings, establishing a strong foundation for success.

The ECE REACH program is a commitment to fostering growth and empowering our participants as they embark on this transformative journey.

SCSEP ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN LAUNCH

Felton is Excited to Announce Major Funding for our SCSEP Job-readiness Training Program for Older Adults!

Felton Institute’s Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP) recently received major funding from the California Department of Aging (CDA) for an outreach campaign to reach and recruit older adults for the SCSEP program that helps them transition back into the workforce.

The generous funding allows us to reach potential clients through digital advertising across multiple platforms, including Nextdoor, Facebook, and Google Search. We’ll also be conducting outreach via mailers and additional videos to come!

About SCSEP:

SCSEP is a federally funded job-readiness training program that helps older adults transition back into the workforce by providing training in community service organizations and government departments, leading to job placements.

Using community-based training sites and guidance in workforce development, SCSEP helps participants develop the skills necessary to secure and succeed in part-time or full-time employment.

TOGETHER, WE ARE FELTON.

Mother Brown's Kitchen

Together, they give back to their community.

For Poverty Awareness Month, Felton is highlighting our Bayview program that provides equity and opportunities to uplift under-served community members. Bayview provides a lifeline to unhoused, formerly unhoused, and food-insecure residents, including Mother Brown's Kitchen, which provides meals to the community.

We spoke with chef Wilona Harrell, custodian Rodney "Shorty" Reese, peer advisor Willie Thomas, and dishwasher Saturnino "Nino" Ramirez. They shared how the program has positively impacted their lives.
