Welcome to the new school year and the beginning of fall sports seasons! At Play Like a Champion, we're excited to start the 2023-2024 year and thrilled to be joined by both new and returning partners. As our teams take to the fields and courts, our weekly Champion Coach Notes promise to offer you the tools, education and strategies you need to perform as coaches, parents, athletes and administrators.
Every Tuesday Play Like a Champion will send partners a Weekly Champion Note via email. This serves as an important way to reinforce and expand upon one aspect of our "Champion" philosophy each week. The purpose of these emails is to address important topics and keep the philosophy fresh and top of mind with the coaches, parents and athletes in your school or league. This year, we'll cover a range of topics that can help you develop well-rounded athletes, promote positive behavior, and more! Emails on the first and third Tuesday of each month will focus on coaching, the second Tuesday will be focused on sports parents, and the fourth Tuesday will be a note for athletes. Some months even feature a bonus 5th note. Notes are published between Labor Day and early May, with a short break over Christmas.
So what should you do with these weekly emails?
We encourage you to forward these notes each week to all your active coaches as a way to regularly promote the Play Like a Champion approach in your community and keep the lessons learned in the initial training coming along with new and useful information for coaches, parents and athletes. You can do this through direct email** or you can request a PDF of the note to forward. Email information@playlikeachampion.org to request the PDF version be sent to you each week [those of you already on this list will continue to receive the PDF each week as you have in the past]. Champion Tip: When forwarding Notes, several Directors will also provide a comment on how the note specifically relates to your school or sports community. This is a great way to provide consistent communication and connection across your programs.
**Note for Direct Emails: Before you forward the email, delete the bottom section that states Unsubscribe. If this appears in a forwarded email, those you forward the email to can actually unsubscribe you from this list by selecting this link (as it's your email attached to the forward). This would stop you from getting the email, and nobody wants that!
