California Transportation Commission
2023 Active Transportation Program Call for Evaluators
The California Transportation Commission is seeking volunteer project application evaluators for the 2023 Active Transportation Program (ATP).

In order to serve as an evaluator, you must be involved in active transportation in some capacity in California and should have knowledge of transportation infrastructure projects and/or non-infrastructure projects and planning processes. Previous ATP evaluator teams have included a broad range of active transportation stakeholders, including advocates, engineers, planners, policy experts, public health professionals, and more. However, please note that consultants and contractors involved in project delivery or application development cannot serve as evaluators due to potential monetary conflicts of interest.

Individuals who are selected as evaluators must attend a three-hour training webinar, for which multiple date/time options will be offered, and will be required to complete a Conflict of Interest form. Evaluators will be placed on teams of two and will be expected to evaluate approximately 10-15 applications. For more information about evaluator expectations and the evaluation process, please click here to see the Evaluator FAQs.

If you are interested in being an evaluator, you must complete this short form by Friday, April 15, 2022. If you have any questions, please reach out to Beverley Newman-Burckhard at [email protected].

Evaluators are critical to the success of the ATP, and we hope that you will consider participating in this important work. We look forward to hearing from you!
