The Lifesaving Society would like to announce the dates for the 2023 Alberta and Northwest Territories Pool Lifesaving Championships and Junior Games. Registration, Event Package, and Safety Plan will be circulated in the next few weeks and posted on Sport.LifeSaving.org. These Championships are open to active lifesaving clubs and registered athletes from across Alberta and Northwest Territories.

Accommodations: We highly recommend booking hotel rooms as soon as possible as there are a limited number of rooms reserved under the group booking rates. Please indicate to the hotel that the rooms are under the Royal Lifesaving Society of Alberta.
Please note that it is a very busy weekend in Camrose for events. However, in consideration of Spring Break and Easter long weekend, the Society wanted to maintain keeping this event over the first weekend of April. As such, we have reserved a number of hotels in Wetaskiwin, which is about a 30 minutes drive from Camrose. Please click the link below to see group booking numbers and deadlines. Lifesaving Sport: The Royal Life Saving Society Canada is the Canadian governing body for Lifesaving Sport (National Sport Organization). Lifesaving Sport is recognized by the International Olympic Committee and the Commonwealth Games Federation. Standardized events are recognized by the International Life Saving Federation (ILS).
The Lifesaving Society Alberta and Northwest Territories Branch is the provincial governing body for Lifesaving Sport (Provincial Sport Organization). We host and sanction Lifesaving Sport competitions for age-group, senior and masters athletes and provide certification programs for coaches and officials.
Lifesaving Sport is the only sport whose skills are first learned for humanitarian purposes. It combines athletic ability with lifesaving skills and rescue equipment. Lifesaving Sport's emphasis and programs focus on long term athlete development. Lifesaving Sport also provides unique opportunities for volunteer recruitment, retention and leadership development.
