PACE DIVISION PONDERINGS
PACE = Postsecondary, Adult & Career Education
| |
|
|
Many of Colorado’s postsecondary colleges are heavily invested in CTE but often feel like an island when diving into the challenges of running their programs and connecting with other institutions. One of the easiest ways to collaborate with other institutions or gain insight into opportunities across the state is to join the CO PACE division of CACTE and be part of a rapidly growing group of people who are succeeding together.
The Postsecondary, Adult, and Career Education (PACE) division is part of the national ACTE organization but also focuses on many issues in Colorado, such as identifying colleges who have similar programs, connecting to both business and secondary partners, staying up on emerging trends and technologies, and working with the CCCS on state requirements and opportunities. PACE is also building its presence at both CACTE (overall association) and CACTA (Administration division) to offer more relevant postsecondary topics, program specific sessions, and chances to collaborate with other college faculty, staff, and administrators.
Lots of you already have an ACTE membership in Colorado and with another division, but any postsecondary members may choose to add PACE to their membership for less than the price of a weeks’ worth of coffee ($30) by contacting the national ACTE office at 800-826-9972. (Don’t try to do it on the website, trust me!) A friendly representative will help you add PACE to your current membership or set you up with a new membership, and then you will be part of the CACTE postsecondary family. So why wait? Join CO PACE today!
For questions about the CO PACE division, contact our president Vicki Aycock at vicki.aycock@arapahoe.edu or treasurer Martin Kollman at mkollman@coloradomtn.edu.

The Colorado Department of Higher Education is partnering with Hanover Research to conduct a study to better understand individuals’ awareness of higher education opportunities, perceptions of institutions, and interests in pursuing education moving forward. This research aims to understand current barriers and challenges preventing individuals from pursuing postsecondary education. If you are a high school student, parent/guardian of a high school student or high school counselor, please take a moment to complete the survey.
To conduct this study, Hanover created a short survey to gather candid responses and insights about postsecondary opportunities. This study is for research purposes only. All information will be maintained on a confidential basis by Hanover Research and will only be reported to the Department in an anonymized form (i.e., name and identifying information such as race and gender will not be shared with the Department or tied to responses).
The SURVEY should take 10-15 minutes to complete. Please distribute this survey to relevant stakeholders (high school students, families, counselors).
The deadline to complete the survey is April 30, 2023.
Questions? Email CDHE@dhe.state.co.us
