SPOTLIGHT: World Series of Innovation Winners

NFTE Announces Winning Ideas for Global Sustainability

Winners of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship's World Series of Innovation (WSI) were announced this month, and their ideas are truly amazing!

Of the 1,249 participating teams worldwide, 30 earned accolades for their innovative solutions to challenges in specific areas aligned with U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as sustainability, education, and economic development.

The 10 categories of WSI were generously supported by companies such as Citi Foundation, Ernst & Young LLP (EY US), Mary Kay, Mastercard, Maxar, MetLife Foundation, Link Logistics, ServiceNow, and Zuora.

All participants presented inspiring ideas for solving global challenges, and this year's winners showcased exceptional creativity, ingenuity, and out-of-the-box thinking in their design-thinking approaches to addressing global goals.

President's Perspective

Time is a precious commodity for professionals. Yet, nearly 3,000 of them log around 14,000 volunteer hours a year serving as NFTE judges, speakers, coaches, advisors, field trip hosts and more – guiding our learners toward self-efficacy.

During National Volunteer Month, we are reminded that skills-based volunteering is the "secret sauce" of our model, essential to our learners' success. Witnessing young people think big and problem-solve is a joy I encourage everyone to experience.

So, we thank you, Judy Stewart and Senthilkumaran Ramaiyan, for being enthusiastic NFTE champions who are always eager to share your extensive experience and knowledge with our learners. We appreciate you Murray Covens for your valuable grant writing support and Gary Weintraub for your valuable marketing insight. We are incredibly thankful for every NFTE volunteer whose passion about our mission drives their gifts of time, resources, and wisdom.
