Nationals Registration Underway | |
The 2023 USBF Nationals will be held June 19-24 at the Highwood Bocce Club. The HBC will host the best bocce players from around the country for a full range of competitive events. This gives us all an opportunity to showcase our club, city, and members.

Nationals Championships Schedule
The schedule has been set for the National Championships, and it includes a full week of events, with open competitions for players at different skill levels, and Punta Raffa Volo (PRV) competitions for advanced players. Entry fees are $80 per individual per event.

Easter Coccetto April 9
Join us on Sunday, April 9, 2023, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. for the annual Easter Coccetto. The Highwood Bocce Club and Modenese Society are once again co-hosting and invite you to join us for one of our most popular member events.
Bring the kids for chocolate eggs and a meet 'n greet with the Easter Bunny, take your chances on our giant egg raffle, and enjoy mimosas and Bloody Marys while connecting with friends and family. Members and their families are welcome.
RSVPs are not required.

Fabulous Fish Fry
Nobody had to give anything up for this Lenten fish fry! More than 120 people enjoyed a feast which included linguine with red clam sauce, broasted cod, baked white fish, and shrimp scampi. A great job as always by Donna Pieracci and her excellent team.

Sunday has been popular at the club with bocce games, cards, and fellowship helping us get through winter.

Saturday, April 1, 20 teams gathered for a competitive Open Tournament which attracted local players/teams as well as visitors from Rockford, Racine, Elmwood Park, and the Detroit area. Congratulations to the team Don't Be Greek on their undefeated championship run bettering the Mission Imbocceball Team in the finals.
A special thank you to Danko Dykyj for organizing and Lio Giannotti, Tom Holleman, Lenny Innocenzi, and Julian Batula for making sure things ran smoothly the day of the event.

Spring Fever Bocce Tourney |
Congratulations to HBC members (pictured right) Courtney Strickland, Lauren McDermott, Vanessa Garippo, and Lilia Zaparaniuk, competing as Team ABC, with great success at the 2023 Club Molisani Charities Women's Spring Fever Bocce Tournament outside of Cleveland, Ohio.
The team made it to the championship round and lost in a close 12-9 match. An impressive 2nd place finish in a competitive 24-team tournament!

Thursday Afternoon Pick Up Games
Afternoon pick-up bocce games will continue on Thursdays. No need to sign-up in advance, just show up and play! Players of all abilities are welcome. Check in and warm up 12:00 PM, games start at 12:30 PM. Cost is $5, $10 for guests of members. Thanks to Mike Ronzio for continuing to lead these afternoon sessions and to Ken and Betty Duffy for starting these afternoon sessions. Questions? Email Mike Ronzio at mronz@comcast.net.

The Winter Leagues are coming to a close and the spring leagues are about to start. Unfortunately these leagues do not have open spots at this time
- A new Tuesday Mixed League started on 3/28
- The Wednesday Men's Spring League will start on April 12
- The spring/summer Thursday Men's Spring/Summer league starts April 27

All members have access to the
Club via their key fob from
6 a.m. to 10 p.m., 7 days a week.
Bar Hours
The bar welcomes members from 6:30 p.m. to closing (usually between 10-12 p.m.) Monday - Saturday, Sunday hours 12-6 p.m.

Club Rule Reminder
As a reminder to members bringing your own liquor to the Club is not allowed due to liability risks. This is true regardless if the bar is open or closed. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Plan Your Event
The Club is a great place to host a party with excellent food, reasonable rates, and attentive service. The Banquet Room has recently been repainted and is ready to welcome your group.
Donna Pieracci is the primary point of contact for booking parties. She and her staff handle all aspects of party planning, menu selection,
set-up, etc.
