2023 Bishop's Book of Dreams

Neighborhood Wellness Foundation

Del Paso Heights, Sacramento

Campaign Funding Goal: $5,000

The Neighborhood Wellness Foundation needs your support! St. John's in Roseville, CA has partnered with the Neighborhood Wellness Foundation, an organization navigating and disrupting inter-generational trauma in Del Paso Heights and its surrounding communities. In particular the people of St. John's have supported the creation and maintenance of a "Pacers Take Space" program lowering the barrier of adversity for students at Grant High School.

The Neighborhood Wellness Foundation is committed to transforming a community that has suffered from inter-generational abuse and poverty for many years. Through the willingness to partner with them, St. John's is offering the hands, feet, mind, and heart of Christ to those whom our society often ignores and forgets. Through sharing the tangible (incarnational) love of Christ to those who suffer, we become embodied messages of the Gospel of Love.

How will funds raised from the appeal help?

These funds will be used for the daily needs of the students. Many do not have access to the basic necessities of life, and often the only meal they will have is through the supplies offered by this ministry. The goal is to minimize learning loss by providing the support and items that would otherwise lead to students not coming to school.

Comprehensive services offered include primary care, mental and behavioral health, substance-abuse services, dental, reproductive health, professional development opportunities, and prevention-focused health education for the full student body (2000+ students). Basic living necessities such as nutritional snacks, laundry soap, personal hygiene items, school supplies etc... are some of the items that would be provided. Other needs will be identified by the staff of the Neighborhood Wellness Foundation.

We hope you will make a gift to this or other programs/ministries from the 2023 Book of Dreams in honor of someone's birthday, memory, anniversary, or a special holiday, and join us in giving thanks to the Giver of all good news, Jesus Christ. When giving in honor of someone, you can download a gift card in English or Spanish to send them.
