R803.2.3.1 Sheathing fastenings

We have reviewed the roof sheathing requirements per the ASCE 7-22 wind regions and exposure criteria as referenced in FBC R301.2.1.4 and determined the specific wind speed and exposure for 158 MPH Exposure “C” wind zone or lower. Based on the wind pressures and calculations for the wind speed and exposure requirements we can certify the use of 7/16” Exposure 1 sheathing or Zip Board fastened with 8d nails @ 4” O.C. Edge & Field except in Zone 1 where 6” O.C. Edge & Field may be used. Our Engineered Design calculations are intended for use in areas not exceeding the wind speed and exposure of 158 mph, Exp “C”. If the wind speed design exceeds 158 mph the Table R803.2.2 will be referenced. The nailing schedule listed in the plan documents has been verified to meet or exceed the nail size and spacing requirements listed in Table R803.2.3.1
