The Cadenza String Ensemble is an auditioned group open to intermediate and advanced middle and high school strings students that bridges the gap between our Sonata Strings Ensemble and the Hendersonville Youth Symphony.  This ensemble is open to string students with one or more years of public school orchestra or one year private string lesson experience. The String Quartet is an auditioned group open to intermediate and advanced middle and high school strings students. This is a full-scholarship quartet that will meet at the Music Academy of WNC. The 12-Week, Beginning Strings Classes for 3rd-5th grade students are designed to give students an extra-curricular music activity, expose them to the orchestral string instruments, and better prepare them to participate in a vast array of string ensemble and orchestra programs throughout Henderson County. The Music Academy of WNC is offering four classes for high school and adult singers entitled “Stamina For Singers.” These classes will explore how to maintain consistency with tone, breath, and expression when tired from a rigorous performing schedule or hectic lifestyle. Yoga for singers will be utilized to help connect breath and voice with intentional exercises and group activities. Note reading helpful but not required. Sleep health for singers will also be explored as well as the use of supplements; distinguishing what to avoid and what is beneficial.  All classes will be held in the Music Academy rehearsal room and are taught by Joanna Best.
