Explore Steveston Fisherman's Wharf + Understanding Communication for Dementia seminar
Join an informational session of Understanding Communication for Dementia seminar and then explore the neighborhood of Steveston Village.
Steveston Fisherman's Wharf is one of the most popular spots in Steveston Village. It is a floating dockside walkway that threads between the fishing boats - as well as the accompanying Steveston Landing boardwalk of shops and eateries. The shoreline attraction is a direct link to the local fishing industry and the region's cannery-era heyday, and it's also a perfect place to explore for a few hours even you are a local.
Friends Caring for Friends: Circle of Care Approach
We talk about the FCBF Circle of Care model and how it worked for Jim and his support group.

Although 29% of caregivers in British Columbia are in distress, you will still hear caregivers say: ‘I don’t need any help’ or ‘it’s okay, I’m fine’. The circle of care approach helps you connect with others who understand the realities of your daily life, by providing a supportive group to share stories with, and encourage each other on the journey.

Would you like to share your stories or tips? You cannot imagine how much you could inspire or help another in the community! You are welcome to call us at 604-279-7099, or email [email protected].

Caregiver Support Plan
Creating a personal caregiving plan is driven by your needs and is tailored to what will give you the greatest support to reduce emotional and physical stress. Beginning with identifying your needs as the caregiver, this document will help you keep sight of your health and wellbeing when creating a plan for providing care.

This monthly e-newsletter is issued on every second Wednesday for our caregivers as an update of the Hub's services and community resources, as well as to share caregiving experience and insights, all for the purpose of supporting caregivers in their journey of healthy living and caregiving.
