PRE-REGISTER AND SAVE $: Remember to pre-register before midnight August 31 and SAVE $5.00 on a dancer registration for the weekend! The easiest way to register is to using the online registration at www.fontanaworkshop.com (or www.cloggerstore.com) You can also register by downloading a form at www.fontanaworkshop.com and mailing it in by the pre-reg deadline. After September 1, the dancer ribbon will cost $5.00 more by pre-reg or at the door.

TSHIRTS: To ensure you get a tshirt in your size and type (short sleeve or long sleeve) we encourage you to pre-register for them. The shirts are ordered in early September and only a very, very limited number are ordered for sale at the door. You can also add a shirt to your already existing pre-registration and it will be waiting for you at the event.

SATURDAY SOLO COMPETITION

Saturday at 7:00pm

Dancers may enter all 3. 1st, 2nd and 3rd medals in each age division, plus overall 

Grand Champion Trophies in each category

Age Divisions: 6-under,7-10,11-14,15-18,19-25,26-35,36-50,51-over

1st place in each age division will dance off for Champion.

FREESTYLE SOLO

Judging will be based on dancing in a line, rise and shine, and/or moving in a circle. Freestyle is defined as the dancer’s self-expression using any style or combination of styles in performing their art. Dancers may combine drag-slide clogging with buck.

Males and females will compete separately during their appropriate age division. Each dancer will be given 32 beats at the beginning to rush the judges and 32 beats to rise and shine.

TRADITIONAL SOLO

Judging will be based on dancing in a line, rise and shine, and/or moving in a circle. Footwork must be traditional styled clogging steps; i.e. drag-slide (No modern clogging steps, i.e. buck, double doubles, hop scuffs, rock hops, etc.). It will be at the judge’s discretion to determine the authenticity of traditional footwork.

Males and females WILL compete against each other. Each dancer will be given 32 beats at the beginning to rush the judges and 32 beats to rise and shine.

FLATFOOT SOLO

Flatfoot dancing is a rhythmic, low to the floor individual percussive step with a drag-slide motion punctuated by skuffs, brushes and flatfooted drags and toe slaps. Flatfoot dancers will compete in a line, traveling and in a rise and shine.

BANNER COMPETITION

It’s a BANNER YEAR, so bring a banner or poster showing your team pride, or make one for you or your family of dancers. Hang them around the main hall and judging will be Saturday at 8:30pm.   

Winner gets a plaque and $50 prize.  

Other prizes will be awarded for creativity, etc.

the GREAT FONTANA BAKE-OFF

Judging Saturday at 8:30 pm - NO ENTRY FEE

Bring or make at least 2 dozen of your signature cookies/no bakes/small treats to share with the judges and your fellow cloggers. Index cards will be provided to name and decribe your entry. Judges Naomi, Chip, Barry and Morgan will taste and rate!  

Top prize blue ribbon and $100, other ribbons and honorable mentions given.  

Fun Dance attendees can enjoy the treats following the judging.
