Annual Enrollment Highlights
2023 Annual Enrollment Dates: April 5, 2023 - May 3, 2023.
Please refer members to carriers’ websites or customer service for detailed information on benefits, network, tiering, and provider directories. Note: Carrier and vendor websites will be updated with FY2024 plan year information by April 5, 2023.
The new July 1 plan year marks the beginning of a new health insurance contract cycle, and as a result of this, and the merger of Tufts Health Plan and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care into Point32 Health, there are changes to the health plans available to GIC members for benefits effective July 1, 2023. The GIC encourages all members to actively shop and evaluate health coverage.
All GIC members should be encouraged to actively shop and evaluate health coverage options by carefully reviewing GIC Benefit Guides to better understand these changes and make informed decisions about their coverage.
Members currently enrolled in a health plan that is being discontinued in Fiscal Year 2024 (FY2024) and who do not choose a new plan, will automatically be default enrolled in a comparable health plan. It is important for members to evaluate their options and select a health plan that meets their needs. After evaluating options, if members do not want to select a different health plan during Annual Enrollment, no further action is needed on the coordinator's part or the member's part. FY2024 health plan enrollment and placement options are outlined in the GIC Benefit Guides.
All GIC members can and should be encouraged to use the MyGICLink Member Benefits Portalto make changes during GIC's Annual Enrollment and throughout the year if they have a qualifying event.
