We are hopeful that, before the start of the 2023 season, other courses will be added to the 2023 Tour schedule. We will keep you posted.
2023 TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2023 Tour Championship will be held at The Club at Bond Head on Sunday October 1st and Monday October 2nd. Championship and A Flights will play the South Course and B, C and ONS Flights will play the North Course.
This two-day (18 holes per day) event is open to all who wish to compete. However, and in order to be eligible for Order of Merit points and prizing in this event, players must have played at least five 2023 GTA AM Tour rounds. The event fee includes daily use of a golf cart, range balls and an AMAZING banquet/post round dinner on the Sunday evening.
2023 MAJOR EVENTS
The Tour will hold three Majors during the summer of 2023! The first Major will take place on Sunday July 9th and Monday July 10th at Carrying Place G&CC (Players will tee off on the first tee in threesomes on BOTH days). The second Major of the year will take place at The Club at Bond Head (North Course- Champ./A Flights and South Course - B, C and ONS Flights) and will see players play 36-holes in one day (split tee starts on the same course)! The third Major of the year will take place at The Nest at Friday Harbour on Tuesday August 29th and National Pines GC on Wednesday August 30th. This Tournament will see players tee off on the first tee, in threesomes, on both days.
COVID PROTOCOLS AND VACCINATION POLICIES/HOST CLUB ACCESS
Unless we are notified otherwise (by local Health Officials), The Tour will not have any Covid Protocols in place. We will keep you posted on any change to this policy as information is made available to us. (MAN THIS FEELS SO GOOD TO TYPE.! 😊)
OPEN NET STABLEFORD FLIGHT
The Open Net Stableford Flight will continue to see players in this Flight tee off at the same time slot as 2022 (after the A Flight). First-place prizing for the 2023 season is one dozen TaylorMade golf balls and one twelve pack of Mill Street Organic (473ml cans).
SPONSOR GIFT BAG
The first 500 players to register for the 2023 GTA AM Tour will, once again, receive a Sponsors' gift package valued at $245.
The 2023 Sponsor Gift Bag, as of right now, will contain the following items:
1) A Puma Mattr Golf shirt
2) A Puma GRYLBL Tech hat
3) One pair of Sundog Sunglasses
4) One MXM Performance Caddy towel
5) One Switch Mark ball mark repair tool
We are working with current Sponsors to add new and cool items to this package. Please let Mark Young know if you would like to provide The Tour with 500 items for the Sponsor Gift Bag to be given to each Tour player.
VIRTUAL NET MATCH PLAY
The Tour will once again host the Virtual Net Match Play (VNMP) competition. There will be a maximum of 32 spots available. To register, please visit The Tour’s website. These virtual competitions will take place at the following Tour venues:
1) The Nest at Friday Harbour – Tuesday May 30th
2) Brampton GC – Monday July 24th
3) Dundas Valley G&CC – Tuesday August 15th
4) Championship Day - TBA

As you know, TaylorMade and Mill Street Brewery provided The Tour with prizing in 2022. Many Tour players, Sponsors and team members have kindly connected us with potential sponsors. ORDER OF MERIT POINTS CALCULATION “TUNING”
After over 15 years with substantially the same points system, the new OoM points system, introduced in 2022, was, by all accounts, a HUGE success. At the 2022 Tour Player Summit there was a discussion and agreement on some minor modifications to the new points system to make it even more equitable. In the spirit of The Tour’s commitment to continuous improvement, we will be making some slight refinements to the Order of Merit points multipliers for each Flight. Stay tuned in 2023 for the further details on these anticipated changes!
In addition, and as a way to increase season-ending competition and excitement, all points earned at the Tour Championship will now be added to a player's OoM points totals (gained up to the last event prior to The Tour Championship). A players top 10 event point totals, prior to the Tour Championship, will be added to The Tour Championship points. Players who do not compete in the Tour Championship will still have their top 10 events used to calculate their total in the season-long OoM points race.
TOUR PATRON SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Last year was the tenth year for the Patron Sponsorship Opportunity. A number of players took advantage of the opportunity to play 21 Tour rounds of golf, as a marketing business expense.
The price of the Patron Sponsorship is $5,650 (plus HST). There will be a maximum of 15 Patron Sponsor spots, available on a first booked basis. If you are interested in becoming a Patron Sponsor, please call or email Mark Young.
REFERRAL PROGRAM
If you know of anyone interested in signing up for the Tour, please have them visit the "Join The Tour" section of the website. We will be providing Tour players, who refer a new player with a dozen TaylorMade golf balls (after the referred player plays at least two 2023 events). Please ensure your friends record you, on the Join Now page, as the person who referred them.
TAYLORMADE REWARDS PROGRAM WINNERS
The TaylorMade Rewards Program has been going for over thirteen years. Players will receive one ballot for every $50 worth of TaylorMade Receipts provided to The Tour. At the end of each year, we draw four players to join Mark Young at Coppinwood GC the following season.
This year, Tour players brought in a total of $160,327.80 worth of TaylorMade receipts. (A HUGE thank you must go to Mike DiFlorio (who owns two GOLFTEC franchises in the Ottawa area) for providing $77,517.02 worth of receipts. Thank you Mike..!!). The winners of the 2023 TaylorMade Rewards Draw are Mike DiFlorio, Carl Thompson, Rory Friedman, Ian Ervine and John Semlitch. CONGRATULATIONS to these folks and a HUGE thank you to Lisa Mustard for managing this program and to EVERYONE who provided TaylorMade receipts..! 😊
