2023 ACCC Insurance Law Writing Competition

The American College of Coverage Counsel is pleased to again sponsor its annual writing competition for students of insurance law. The competition, which is intended to measure the analytic and writing skills of law students studying insurance, comes with a cash prize and the opportunity to attend the ACCC’s Annual Meeting in Chicago in May of 2023.

This year’s writing competition asks students to choose one of two sides in a case involving an insurance company and a Texas based business in preparing a motion for partial summary judgment on a specific set of grounds as presented by each party.

Three winners will be selected by a panel of ACCC Fellows. The recipients will each receive a cash prize and an invitation to attend the College’s Annual Meeting in Chicago, March 10-12, 2023, with a travel stipend. This will present a wonderful opportunity for these students to meet and network with some of the top insurance lawyers in the United States. Previous competition winners were third-year students who are now practicing at excellent coverage firms around the country.

The competition materials can be downloaded here. If you have trouble downloading the file, please contact Pearl Ford-Fyffe at [email protected].

We request that you inform students of this competition and encourage them to enter.

All students who participate must notify us of their intention to do so by completing the
ACCC 2023 Student Writing Competition Intent to Participate Form online by no later than February 10, 2023

The deadline for entry submissions is Friday, March 10, 2023, at 12:00 noon Eastern Time.
