SPOTLIGHT: NFTE at World Economic Forum

NFTE CEO Moderates WEF Session on Learning Loss

On January 18, NFTE CEO Dr. J.D. LaRock moderated “How to Prevent Lost Learning,” a 2023 World Economic Forum session featuring Catherine Russell, Executive Director of United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF); Mohamad Ali Hamade, CEO of Amanat Holdings; Asheesh Advani, CEO of Junior Achievement Worldwide; Jeffrey R. Tarr, CEO of Skillsoft; and Rachel Romer, CEO of Guild Education.

It's an important topic. More than 65% of countries have cut education budgets in the wake of competing priorities from the health, economic and energy crises, undermining prospects for growth and dimming the chances of reaching the UN's Sustainable Development Goal for education by 2030. The panel explored bold and innovative steps that business and government can take to turn the education crisis into opportunity.

By exposing NFTE students to mentors from organizations like EY at a young age, NFTE students can see that anything is possible and gain the confidence to pursue opportunities and own their futures.
