Recipes from the Heart

Food brings people together. When friends, family, acquaintances, or strangers share a meal, they bond. Sharing a meal reduces loneliness, it gives an opportunity to share wisdom and experiences, and facilitates coming together. United Way Healthy Aging recently launched “Recipes from the Heart” a collection of over 50 stories and recipes from caregivers, seniors, their families, and community organizations across BC. Gift yourself and loved ones a book full of love, stories and recipes.

If you are interested to order a copy, please feel free to contact us.
Would you like to share your stories or tips? You cannot imagine how much you could inspire or help another in the community! You are welcome to call us at 604-279-7099, or email [email protected].

January is Alzheimer Awareness Month
Each January, the Alzheimer Society supports and lead Canada’s Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. During this month, you are encouraged to learn more about Alzheimer’s and its impact on Canadians.

By understanding what people living with dementia experience in their day-to-day lives – their struggles, their successes, and their hopes – we raise awareness of dementia and help improve the quality of life of people living with dementia.
