Acceptable Proof of Identification Documents for completing motor vehicle forms can be any of the following:
- Valid Pennsylvania Photo Driver License
- Valid Pennsylvania Photo Identification Card
- Valid Pennsylvania Photo Exempt Driver License
- Valid Pennsylvania Photo Exempt Identification Card
- Valid Pennsylvania 15-day temporary internet driver license or identification card renewal credential and expired DL/ID
- Valid Pennsylvania Camera Card and Pennsylvania Expired Identification Credential
- Valid U.S. Armed Forces Common Access Card — Dependents of Armed Forces personnel must provide a valid United States Uniformed Services Identification and Privilege Card (DD Form 1173)

When running a DLDV Inquiry, please remember to select the correct option from the Identification dropdown. If you have a Pennsylvania ID and leave the default option to Driver License, the report will return as Failed, as this would be incorrect.

Here are a few little reminders for you to keep in mind.
Signing that change in address
A change of address update card must be signed in order to be valid proof.
Returning QC information
When returning information to us because you received a QC notification and/or request, the document must be returned with a copy of the applicant summary. However we do NOT need the entire deal.
Documenting state-crossing gifts
For a gift from another state, please refer to the back of the MV-13ST for acceptable documentation showing tax paid in the reciprocal state.

If you are issuing an In-Transit Tag, please remember to include the following:

The Applicant Summary needs to be signed by the issuing agent AND the customer

A COPY of the front and back of the completed title

Supporting documents such as the bill of sale, receipt and so forth

Copy of Insurance

Out-of-State Driver License
If you are not able to process the In-Transit online, you must call us to retrieve an incident number from one of our customer service representatives. We will give you any further instructions for issuing a manual In-Transit tag that you may need.
