Legislative Priorities Prior to the Conference
Thursday, October 12
10:30 p.m. - 11:45 p.m.
Attend the Policy Issue Update on Thursday morning to receive a detailed overview of the proposed 2024 Policy Agenda and Legislative Priorities. Voting delegates are encouraged to attend this session to review the recommendations prior to the business session where your county's appointed voting delegate will vote on the proposed 2024 Policy Agenda and Legislative Priorities. To make amendments to the policy objectives, complete an amendment form. Amendment requirements are included below.

Amendment Requirements
Amendments to the Policy Agenda and resolutions may be proposed from the Membership under the following conditions: 
  1. Proposed amendments or resolutions must be in writing on an ACCG Amendment Form;
  2. Proposed amendments or resolutions must be co-signed by a total of five (5) commissioners that are each from a different county in good standing; and
  3. Completed, proposed amendments or resolutions must be submitted to President Henry Craig (hcraig@baldwincountyga.com) and Clint Mueller (cmueller@accg.org) prior to the start of the Business Session.

All questions regarding the Policy Agenda should be directed to ACCG’s Governmental Affairs Team.

Voting Credential Pick Up
Voting delegate credentials can be picked up onsite at the voting credentials booth near registration on Wednesday, October 11 from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and on Thursday, October 12 from 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. You must have your credentials to vote.
Make Plans to Attend the Hot Topic Session
Property Tax Assessments: An Exploration of Current Issues 
Thursday, October 12
Offered Twice from 2:15 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. & 3:15 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. 
Explore current issues surrounding property assessments by attending this session. Issues such as concerns with the sales ratio study, trends in commercial property valuation, and the tax estimate on the assessment notice will be discussed. Various tax loopholes and ways to limit the effects of assessment increases will also be addressed.    
Presenters include Ware County Tax Commissioner Roger Collins, Cherokee County Chief Appraiser Steve Swindell, DOR Local Government Services Senior Manager of Revenue Grant Hilton, and DOR Local Government Services Compliance Specialist Blair McLinn.
