Spreading Love and Appreciation: A Valentine’s Day Gift to Caregivers

On the Valentine’s Day, we witnessed an act of kindness that truly warmed our hearts. A caregiver, who wished to spread love and appreciation to other caregivers by gifting them with 60 beautiful roses. This kind gesture served as a heartfelt thank you for their tireless efforts in taking care of their loved ones.

It’s easy to forget the hard work and dedication that caregivers put in day after day, and this selfless act serves as a reminder to all of us to appreciate and recognize the caregivers in our lives. Jane Lee who generously donated 60 roses to fellow caregivers has graciously accepted our invitation to share her thoughts and insights.

Would you like to share your stories or tips? You cannot imagine how much you could inspire or help another in the community! You are welcome to call us at 604-279-7099, or email [email protected].

Financial Aspects of Caregivers
Caregiving comes along with many financial costs. These can include medical expenses, renovation costs, loss of income, and more. It can be challenging for caregivers to navigate the various processes for applying for tax credits, benefits, and claiming expenses.
Recent changes made by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) impact qualifying criteria and how to provide documents and information to the CRA. In this webinar, Shelby Parkinson of Liberty Tax Services explains which benefits and credits are available to you and what to look out for when applying for them. She also provides information on how to claim a number of different expenses, and how to organize financial information effectively so that it’s easier to file your taxes as a caregiver.

This monthly e-newsletter is issued on every second Wednesday for our caregivers as an update of the Hub's services and community resources, as well as to share caregiving experience and insights, all for the purpose of supporting caregivers in their journey of healthy living and caregiving.
