US Oral Surgery Management and its Medical Mission Committee deeply appreciate the passion our surgeon partners have for helping those in need, including sharing their expertise and compassion on domestic and international medical mission trips. We are excited to introduce a Medical Mission Reimbursement in 2023. This is incremental to your current discretionary budget. Details are below. Criteria for eligibility aligned to medical mission philosophies:
A recognized mission opportunity that is medically related and within the scope of oral surgery and facial reconstruction.
Primary amount of time is spent on mission work.
Operating within your professional experiences and capabilities.
Teaching and sharing knowledge is part of the mission.
Domestic and international medical mission trips are eligible.
Must be willing to commit to a brief write-up/synopsis, and photos so that your mission work can be shared amongst our practices.
Frequency:
Once annually.
Reimbursement amount:
50% of expenses up to $2,000 for travel, lodging, manuals, supplies such as sutures. Meals are excluded.
This 50% with a maximum of $2,000 is incremental to a surgeon’s current discretionary spend budget.
Please enter your expenses as normal travel-related expenses on a surgeon’s Concur expense report. It will be categorized in the project code as ‘OBE’. The "Business Purpose" will be "Medical Mission Reimbursement".
Approval process:
Must be approved prior to the trip. Click here to download and fill out a brief request form.
Save your form, enter your details, sign and submit to Medical Mission Committee Facilitator, Maureen McCann via email at Maureen.Mccann@usosm.com.
Dr. Colin Bell, Chief Clinical Officer, and Dr. Normund Auzins, Medical Mission Committee Member, will review the trip requests and approve.
Supplies for missions:
Please email USOSM Director of Procurement, Zack McNeil at Zack.McNiel@usosm.com well in advance of your trip. Zack will inquire with our major distributor partners regarding the possibility to receive extra discounted pricing for supplies for missions.
