Passwords are an important part of cybersecurity to ensure the information you and your dealership carry doesn’t get in the wrong hands. To help you remember yours, we have a list of helpful tips to ensure you can get into Vitu without hassle.
When creating your password, click the eye icon to the right of the password box. This will unhide your password and allow you to ensure it’s been correctly typed as you intended.
|
When logging into Vitu, if you make an error typing in your password you will get two more attempts to retype it. Click the eye icon to see your password before submitting, allowing you to make sure you haven’t made any mistakes.
|
When you only have one more attempt, instead of trying again and getting locked out, or if you’ve genuinely forgotten your password, select the Forgot? button to the right of the password box. From there, choose to receive a reset email from help@vitu.com. Once received, click Choose a new password. This will open a new web page where you can reset your password.
|
If you accidentally get yourself locked out of Vitu, contact your dealership’s administrator to be reset. If they are unavailable or unreachable, call Vitu Support to have us unlock your account for you.

It’s never been more difficult to protect your dealership against fraud. Every day, your dealership sees a new buyer or acquires a trade-in, making the stakes higher than ever to be on the lookout for red flags in a transaction.
This month, we want to share three powerful tools we provide to make it easy to protect your dealership against fraud. You already may have access to these and if not, getting set up is just a matter of reaching out to your Account Executive.
Verify out-of-state buyers with DLDV
Driver License Data Verification — or DLDV — is made to verify that your out-of-state buyer is who they say they are. A quick check is all it takes to get easy-to-read reports.
DLDV pulls data from 41 states (through AAMVA), making it reliable and secure wherever you are.
|
Avoid surprises with NMVTIS
National reporting gives you a complete picture of titling history and — more importantly — keeps you in the know of any “brand hits” on the vehicle including junk, salvage, flooded and more.
Save your dealership from headaches with one of the best tools at your disposal — Vitu’s NMVTIS inquiry summary page and exclusive, easy-to-read formatting gives you crucial information to protect your dealership.
|
Stay aware of theft and lien history
Before you receive a trade-in, you need to know if a vehicle has any theft or lien history that could impact its resale value. This exclusive report shows if a vehicle was previously reported stolen or if there are any outstanding liens on it — and as always, it comes in an easy-to-read format.
|
The power is in your hands
With the power of these three reports at your fingertips, you have everything you need in order to make the right decisions for your dealership.
DLDV, NMVTIS, and Theft and Lien reports are available right now for most of our users under the Lookups tab. For more information and to start using these powerful fraud prevention tools, reach out to your Account Executive today.
