The Palm Beach Kennel Club County Amateur is not your average local golf tournament. Especially, not when you consider past winners include a major champion (Mark Calcavecchia), two PGA Tour members (Steve Hart and Gary Nicklaus) and an Irishman who once halved a match with Phil Mickelson to help Great Britain-Ireland win the Walker Cup (Eoghan O’Connell, of Palm City).

Daniel Berger, 4x PGA TOUR Champion, didn’t win the County Am, but he finished second to Nicklaus in 2008…as a 15-year-old.

Brooks Koepka, former World Number 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking for 47 weeks, winner of the U.S. Open in 2017 and 2018, and winner of the PGA Championship in 2018 and 2019, also played in the County Amateur, which was first held in 1976.

Sponsored by Tire Kingdom, the Annual Tire Kingdom Mid-Am Match Play Championship provides an opportunity for members to test their game in a match play format. Open to all amateurs 25 & older.

The Tire Kingdom Shootout (Match Play Qualifier) Friday, June 30th will be a MULTI-CONTEST EVENT.

Not only will the event serve as a TRUE QUALIFIER/Seeding round for the Tire Kingdom Mid-Am Match Play Championship (Aug 25 - Aug 27, 2023), it will also be an 18-hole Shootout Championship offering 2 Contest Divisions: Mid-Am (25-49) & Senior (50+).

PBCGA has announced an Official Partnership with THE GOLF CRYPT, JUPITER, a leading provider of 24/7 Indoor Golf Training Space featuring Trackman 4 technology based in Jupiter, FL. With the increased support of the Association, The Golf Crypt will title sponsor the three Player of The Year Point Races. 

Registration will stay open to all members during the 2023 Tournament Season and will close with the final regular season event at the Pro-Scratch Par 3.

PBCGA has partnered with Take Stock in Children – Palm Beach County to provide tuition scholarships for students to attend the Florida state college of their choice. Since 1976, over $468,000 has been raised by PBCGA supporters and over 185+ students have received tuition assistance! Thank you to all those that have contributed over the years.

The Nicklaus Junior Championship is one of South Florida’s premier Junior Golf Tournaments. The Nicklaus Junior is jointly administered by the South Florida PGA and the Palm Beach County Golf Association, two of Florida’s largest golf organizations.

The Nicklaus Junior Championship has a long history in Florida, with some of the area’s greatest Junior Golfers participating. Previous winners include Professional Golfers Brooks Koepka, Chase Koepka and Daniel Berger.
