Director's Note

Can you believe I have been with ITRC since September 2015? Where did the time go? It’s been an exciting 8 years with lots of change and growth with the organization thanks to all of you. I am thrilled to turn the leadership over in the coming weeks to another Reyes - Charles Reyes knowing that our membership and partnerships are strong, our team leadership is producing groundbreaking products, and our Board of Advisors are prepared and ready to start the next ITRC Strategic Plan.

Today is also Charles’ first day with the ITRC team prior to taking over the Director’s role on July 1, 2023! Charles previously was the Associate Director for the Association of State and Territorial Solid Waste Management Officials (ASTSWMO). Charles and I will work together to smoothly transition so he is set to lead as the next ITRC Director for many years.

This is a tremendous organization that will be celebrating its 30th anniversary next year stronger than ever! It has been a privilege to work with our members and all our partners, and I can’t wait to come back and celebrate all that is so wonderful about ITRC next year. I could not be prouder of what we accomplished, and I will be forever grateful for the privilege of being the Director for 8 years. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all. So, one more month to get a lot done!

ITRC Travels Abroad with PFAS Team

At the end of April, ITRC and our PFAS team traveled across the pond to Australia and New Zealand, expanding the global network of ITRC members and promoting the resources our teams work so hard to develop! Patty Reyes and members of the PFAS team presented training at a 3 day PFAS Event Series: Into the Future Towards 2028 for over 200 people and cemented ITRC’s partnership with the Australasian Land and Groundwater Association (ALGA) and the Network for Industrially Contaminated Land in Europe (NICOLE). We are so excited for this collaboration, and the global exposure it will bring to further develop our external reviews, trainings, and conferences!
