Summer Camp 2023 February Newsletter

Dear unit leaders and summer camp coordinators,


Our camp program team lead by Quinn Obropta, is finalizing the draft Merit Badge offerings and master schedule. The goal is to have the document updated by March 1st. You can access both the Merit Badge & pre-camp requirement listing  as well as the master schedule from our forms & resources page. Click HERE to navigate to this page. The document links still indicate 2022, but we’ll change that over to 2023 once Quinn completes his updates. For any program questions, feel free to reach out to Quinn at [email protected].


Our 2023 fee schedule is available HERE. Our deepest discounted tier is available through February 28th. Families must pay you $495 in time for your troop to remit a payment to us. As a reminder, your entire troop contingent does not need to pay at this time, only those families wishing to take advantage of this discount. The next discount tier of $525 is valid through April 30th. Don't forget about the sibling discount.


You can make multiple payments throughout the year for each discount deadline. Each payment should be accompanied by a transmittal. If you have any questions about the payment process, please reach out to Michelle Cathers via email or call 215-348-7205 x305.


Through the contributions of generous donors, the Council is able to offer a limited number of camperships which can cover up to 50% of the camp fees. The campership application is available HERE. The deadline for application is April 1. The campership committee meets shortly thereafter to determine award amounts.


We still have several positions available on our summer camp staff. If you have a Scout or Scouter who might be interested in working at Ockanickon, more information and an online application is available HERE. If you have any questions about specific positions or qualifications, please reach out to me via email.


Lastly, save the date for our online, virtual leaders meeting on Saturday, May 6th. We’ll go over the most up to date program, food service information, how to sign up for Merit Badges and campsite requests. An invitation to register for the event will go out in April.
