New Memorandum of Commitment

Through our “COmmunity Mistrust and Measures of Institutional Trustworthiness (COMMIT)," partnership with Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, a Memorandum of Commitment (MOC) was developed which serves as a critical step in building trust between research and the community.

According to Pastor Franklin Lance, DMin, who played a critical role in its development, "What we seek to do here is say, 'this is not something we're just talking about, but something we are willing to document that we will do. We believe so much in the work that we are willing to document it.'"

2023 Summer Roundtable Series

This summer, we had an all-star group of presenters initiate conversations about race and racism in digital health, diversity, equity and inclusion in clinical trials, systemic racism in providing care, and more.

"All of the Summer Roundtable Series topics tied into how do we overarchingly address systemic and structural bias in healthcare delivery systems," Hillary Edwards, MPH, Director of Research with the PATIENTS Program, said. "Each one featured subject matter experts both from the scholarly side and the lived experience side who provided diverse perspectives on how to address these issues."
