2024 First Quarter Review

A note from our Founder...

Dear Friends,

Happy Spring to you!

We started 2024 off with a renewed vision and plan we are very excited about! As we’ve consistently evaluated the best ways to educate and support our law enforcement families, we realized that there are thousands of families who’ve never heard of us. These families desperately need our resources! We immediately revamped our goals for 2024 to prioritize two ways of reaching families.

First, increase our social media presence with content designed to help, give hope, and provide needed knowledge. Second, reach new officer families through departments and academies, providing early education. We now have several projects in the works on our website, in social media, and creating progressive family trainings as officers move through the career. We have expanded our Marketing/Communications team, and created a robust Content Team working together to reach these families.

Then suddenly, we felt the wind change! Since 2018 when our work began, we have worked tirelessly to gain ground in the law enforcement community. We’ve built a solid reputation as an organization of excellence and trust. Our work has been slow but methodical, with good results. We felt that we were pushing…appropriately so. And then in one week, we were contacted by two large organizations that were asking us to bring Home Watch to them. This change is huge—we went from pushing ourselves to others pulling us in. Our team members are responding with a different approach!

The good news doesn’t stop there. As the new year began, we had three individuals who’d credited H2LOC for saving their lives (thwarting suicide). This past quarter, we added four more people to that list! Our work is making a difference…and seven families have their loved ones with them, getting the help they need. We couldn’t be more thankful.

Thank you for your support, prayers, dollars, and interaction. We are grateful for you!

Home Watch Roseville

This full day conference is designed to equip men and women in their roles as law enforcement spouses/significant others. Our Roseville, CA event on Saturday, April 13th, featured special speakers Tim and Michelle Whitcomb, Sheriff from New York, and Kevin Thompson, marriage pastor and author. With teaching, stories, connection, food, and much more, more than 70 attendees left feeling honored, encouraged, and inspired! Your support makes this event possible. THANK YOU to all the volunteers who help make this possible!

Launch of National Family Helpline

H2LOC is excited to work with Cordico to launch a Family Peer Support Helpline! This is a 24/7, non-crisis helpline manned by volunteers trained in peer support. All support is confidential. This is a first of its kind, and we are excited to open another avenue of help and support to our families.

The helpline will be launching SOON!

Coming Up....

BIG DAY OF GIVING

We are excited to be part of the Big Day of Giving this year for the first time. H2LOC has BIG goals to raise $50,000 to help fund all that we have planned for this year.

What is Big Day of Giving?

Big Day of Giving is a once-annual 24-hour giving challenge to help local nonprofits raise funds to make a difference in the Sacramento region. Your donation of any amount will help provide education, support and community to our law enforcement families not only in the Sacramento region, but across the country where we are actively bringing resources to families and departments in need.

How can you help?

GIVE! You can donate by clicking the button now through Thursday, May 2, and making a gift with a credit or debit card.

  • Donations as little as $10 make a big difference.

  • You can start giving today through May 2 during the Early Giving period.

We know this is a HUGE goal, and we can't accomplish this without you and your support for our families in blue!

Big Day of Giving Challenge!

NATIONAL POLICE WEEK

May 12-17, 2024

Some of the How 2 Love Our Cops team members will be attending local, state, and National Police Week events during May to support and honor families and co-workers that have lost loved ones in the line of duty. This year, 282 names are being engraved on the national memorial wall as surviving family members and coworkers gather to honor them at ceremonies throughout the week of May 12th - 17th in Washington D.C.

Many local cities, counties, and states honor fallen officers at yearly memorials held during the month of May. This can be a difficult time for families and agencies as they gather to recognize the sacrifice of their loved ones and family members. Police week is a great time for community members to show their support for their local police departments by attending the memorials and by showing appreciation for their department in more personal ways.

We would love to hear how you support your local Police Department!

SPOTLIGHT: Pray for the Patch

Our Team collects department and agency patches from all over the world, and once a month we post a different patch on our blog, Facebook, and Instagram pages and offer up a prayer for that particular agency. We then post the patches on special bulletin boards and display at our events.

Want us to pray for you? Send us a patch! How 2 Love Our Cops, PO Box 811, Penryn, CA 95663.
