On Tuesday, despite the clouds filled with rain, our hearts were full of love as we remembered our beloved science and English teacher, Ernie Hartt, on what would have been his 61st birthday.  Staff and students dressed in his favorite shade of green, many sporting his beloved Converse high tops.  Fly high, Mr. Hartt, fly high!

The Student Council will host a bake sale on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, February 13, 14, and 15, to support their high school prom fundraising. Donations of baked goods would be greatly appreciated and may be dropped off at the front office. Please be aware that we have a nut allergy on campus.

The San Diego County Health and Human Services Department has created a new program–The School Infectious Disease Prevention and Response Program serves providers, parents, and students of San Diego County K-12 schools, preschools, early childcare centers, and institutes of higher education. This program aims to promote disease prevention and awareness of child and adolescent diseases through education, outreach, and support services. You can find more details about the program by clicking here.

Space is filling up! Act now to secure your spot. Does your child struggle with executive function and self-regulation skills? At parents' request, The Winston School is organizing an evening event on campus on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 5:00 - 6:00 PM to equip your child with practical tools to enhance these crucial skills. Our team comprises experts in this field, including Kelsey Garrison, the Assistant Head of School, and John Weber, the Admissions and Special Education Manager, who will share their invaluable insights.

Executive function and self-regulation skills are cognitive processes that enable individuals to plan, concentrate, remember instructions, and effectively juggle multiple tasks. These skills are fundamental in filtering out distractions, establishing priorities, achieving objectives, and exercising impulse control.
