DOORS OPEN MILWAUKEE --- Sat, Sept. 28, 10:00am-5:00pm --- Annunciation Church

Doors Open Milwaukee will include Annunciation again this year. Our Church Tour Committee will act as guides to members of the larger community of Milwaukee as they come to visit and learn more about our church. Our Baking Angels will have baked goods to sell also. This event is free of charge for all.

+++ PARISH ANNOUNCEMENTS

SPECIAL PARISH ASSEMBLY (Sat, August 24, 2024) --- This Special Parish Assembly was the best attended assembly in recent history with 84 people in very good spirits on a beautiful Saturday morning. Norm Eckstaedt (Stabilization Committee Chair) presented the roof problem and the proposed solution/repair. Greg Papachristou (P.C. President) presented the available funds and Parish Council recommendation for how to fund the added repair. The motion to “approve use of Yeacumis Saving Bonds ($60,984) and remaining Foundation Consiglio Estate Funds ($39,329.05) to fund the added Roof repairs with use of a portion of the existing project contingency. Additional approval also granted for use of remaining Parish Consiglio Life Insurance Funds ($40,337.48) to supplement remainder of existing Roof, Stairs, Plaza project contingency as needed” passed unanimously at the end of a 45-minute Parish Assembly. Glory and thanks be to God for all things first and foremost. Thank you also to all who made an effort to attend and every one of you who continue to show your love for our beloved Annunciation Church.

 

VACATION CHURCH SCHOOL 2024 --- Thank you to all our teachers and our many high school helpers (from both churches) for putting together a wonderful VCS this year yet again. Our youth had tons of fun while learning a lot. DIAPER DRIVE --- Sept. 1 – 29 --- Philoptochos is hosting a Diaper Drive benefiting families in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. Your contributions are helping stock the United Way Diaper Bank. 2024 STEWARDSHIP --- The 2024 Stewardship Pledge Form is available on our website and here https://tinyurl.com/annunciation-2024-pledge. The printed form is available in the Narthex & the Office. Stewardship and other donations can be made online at https://tinyurl.com/annunciation-give-now. As of Thursday, August 22, we have 288 pledged households totaling $379,001.80. To date, we have received $275,329.73. 

 

STRATEGIC PLANNING --- We thank our Vision Team Leads and Members for their work submitting, revising and finalizing their smart goals and action items. The Parish Council and Strategic Planning Committee is looking forward to reviewing these and seeing how each growth opportunity is being addressed in September when the final full Strategic Plan will be compiled. The tentative date for the Special Parish Assembly to present & approve the Strategic Plan is October 6, 2024. More information will be provided once the plans have been finalized and implemented.
