Monroe is resilient and we are recovering. Please read below for our 7 day post storm update.

Multiple roads were closed starting August 19th, now only two remained closed.

August 19th

  • Green Street (water over roadway)
  • Brook Street (water over roadway)
  • Turkey Roost Rd. (Roadway washed out)
  • Bagburn Rd. (Roadway washed out)
  • Old Zoar Rd, North of Bagburn. (Roadway washed out)
  • Cottage at Brookside (Roadway washed out)
  • Hammertown Rd. At Rod and Gun club (washed out)
  • Victoria Dr. by Amazon lot (water over roadway)
  • Old Newtown Rd. Just East of Rt. 25 (water)
  • Garder rd. In between Fan Hill and Hammertown
  • Rt. 34 in both directions



August 22nd

Closures

  • Route 34 east of Route 111 (towards the Stevenson Dam)
  • Cottage Street near Brookside Trail


Further testing still needs to be done before Great Hollow Lake will be reopen for swimming. The Park is accessible for walking, hiking and biking.

The Lake Zoar boat launch will be closed until further notice.

Please be aware of the possible upcoming storm for tonight on August 26th.
