Let’s Make This School Year the Best One Yet!!

As student, teachers, school administrators, and staff got back into schools this week, our Digi-Bridge team is energized and ready to kick off our programs after a summer full of planning for another successful school year.

Students are officially back to school, and our Digi-Bridge team is excited to dive into another year of empowering learners through STEAM education!

While classrooms were quiet over the summer, we were anything but. Our team spent the past few months leading hands-on, high-energy summer camps, connecting with families, and fine-tuning our programs to make this school year our most impactful yet.

We also had the opportunity to continue connecting more with members of our community and partners. We hosted our 2nd annual Let’s Imagine More Breakfast Fundraiser, launched our first ever Crown Town Challenge event, and hosted countless STEAMKit builds and team member engagement events with companies throughout Charlotte. These powerful moments helped us to share our mission and spark new connections with the community.

We’re thrilled to share some highlights and updates with you in this newsletter. Thanks, as always, for being part of our journey, let’s continue to imagine more, together!

If you're new to Digi-Bridge, or perhaps it's been awhile, allow us to reintroduce ourselves. Since our founding in 2014, Digi-Bridge has been dedicated to serving under-resourced schools and communities across Charlotte by providing high-quality out-of-school time STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) programming.

Responding to community feedback, we developed flagship initiatives like STEAMLab and Robotics programming, which offer consistent, hands-on learning opportunities to K-8 Title I students in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. These afterschool programs engage scholars in themed series that focus on a wide variety of curricula, fostering skills in problem solving, collaboration, and critical thinking.

By creating safe, enriching afterschool environments, Digi-Bridge not only supports academic growth, but also inspires scholars to pursue STEAM-focused education and career pathways.

2nd Annual Let's Imagine More Philanthropy Breakfast

We had a full house join us for this second installment of our signature fundraising event in May. The theme for the 2025 event was grit and persistence, a core part of our mission. We want to help equip students with those critical "stick-to-it" skills, learning to keep going even when something is challenging or new. Thanks to our wonderful sponsors and generous donors, we are thrilled to share that our community committed $111,346 to support the future of our work.

Charlotte Wine & Food Week

2025 marked the first of four years that Digi-Bridge will be a beneficiary of Charlotte Wine & Food alongside three other incredible non-profits serving our Charlotte community. Digi-Bridge staff and guests took part in events throughout Charlotte Wine & Food week, and were honored to receive a transformational gift of $104,000!

Inaugural Crown Town Challenge: Intern Edition

We officially launched the Crown Town Challenge: Intern Edition in July 2025. Thanks to our wonderful sponsors and interns from participating organizations, we had a fantastic inaugural event! More 100 interns representing 17 companies from throughout Charlotte came together and packed 1,000 Charlotte sports-themed STEAMKits that were delivered to Classroom Central for distribution to teachers in their Free Store. Select companies participated in a corporate robotics team challenge, congratulations to our winners from Honeywell and SCOR! We look forward to brining this event back in 2026, welcoming interns, staff and associates to participate in the 2nd annual event!

The Future is Looking Bright: What's in store for the 2025-2026 School Year

We are thrilled to share that for the 2025-2026 school year, we will expand our programming to serve 32 Title 1 schools with STEAMLab programming, 12 school based competition robotics teams, two competition robotics teams including our first ever high school team!

Also new this year, we are also delving deeper into differentiated early exposure to STEAM experiences and career and technical skills with the piloting of a K-2 specific program we are calling STEAMLab Explore. STEAMLab for 3rd-5th graders will be titled STEAMLab Engage, providing age appropriate and unique curriculum and content exploration across all areas of STEAM. Our 6th-8th grade specialist program, STEAMLab Enrich, will embed local subject matter experts, near-peer mentors and field trip experiences.
