Family and Student Reminders:

No School ~ Friday, February 14th for Family Connections

No School ~ Monday, February 17th for President's Day

Dear Families,

I hope this message finds you well. As we gear up for our Family Connection Meetings tonight and tomorrow, I wanted to take a moment to express how much we are looking forward to these important gatherings. These meetings are a wonderful opportunity for us to strengthen the partnership between our school and your family, which is vital for the success and well-being of our learners.

Our collaboration plays a crucial role in creating a supportive and enriching environment for our students. By working together, we can ensure that each child receives the guidance and encouragement they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

During the meetings, we will discuss your child's progress, celebrate their achievements, and address any questions or concerns you may have. Your insights and feedback are invaluable to us, and we are eager to hear your thoughts on how we can continue to support your child's learning journey.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to your child's education. We are excited to connect with you and explore ways to enhance our partnership for the benefit of our learners.

Looking forward to seeing you tonight and tomorrow!

Warm regards,

Clarence Pollock

Proud Principal

Beginning Monday, March 3rd, smartwatches and other communication devices will no longer be permitted in the classroom.

To bring these devices to school, guardians must sign a permission slip, similar to the existing cell phone procedure. Each morning, watches and other devices will be collected and securely stored in Principal Pollock’s office. They will be returned to students at the end of the school day. For any necessary communication between students and family members during school hours, please contact the school office.

Family Bulletin Board!

Peter Selby, his mother Katie and his 10th Grade brother Miles (SL Alum) put together this beautiful bulletin board in our main foyer. "Make Your Mark and See Where it Takes You!"

Thank you Selby family for your time and creativity!

Students will always go outside unless the regular temperature is below 0 degrees or the windchill temperature is -10 degrees or below. We will watch the temperature to keep our students safe.

We are always in need of gently used or new winter gear, especially waterproof mittens/gloves.

If you are in need of winter gear, please contact our Social Worker Michelle Bryant at bryant.michelle@slpschools.org

Susan Lindgren Community Highlights!

Hello! Thanks to the SLP Girls Lacrosse Association, your child had the opportunity to learn about and play the amazing sport of lacrosse today during gym class! Lacrosse is a fast-moving field sport played with two teams. Players use sticks with webbed baskets to carry the ball down the field to shoot into the opposing team's net. Gameplay is very similar to soccer, basketball, and hockey. Saint Louis Park offers a girls lacrosse program for K-8th grade and Hopkins/Saint Louis park have a combined boys program (also grades K-8th grade). Here are some more details if your child is interested in playing this spring/summer! They will also get the opportunity to play lacrosse again in their gym classes next Monday!

Strategic Plan: Thank You for Sharing Your Perspectives!

We are appreciative of each family and community member that took part in the strategic planning community engagement session on January 27. It was helpful to hear about your experience and the information gathered is crucial for us to build a strong, actionable strategic plan for the district. Throughout the session, there were some questions about outcomes. Please find more information on the District Data Dashboard and in the School Continuous Improvement Plans (CIP).

Update your emergency contact information

As part of our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students, please update your child’s emergency contact information. Having accurate and current contact details allows us to reach you or a trusted adult quickly in case of an emergency.

Why This Matters:

Up-to-date emergency contacts help us support students effectively, especially in urgent situations. We understand that families’ circumstances can change, and we want to ensure we have the correct information at all times.

What You Can Do:

  • Review your child’s emergency contact information
  • Complete this form to update any phone numbers, addresses, or emergency contacts that may have changed
  • Add at least one trusted adult who can be reached if you are unavailable

Please know that all information you provide is kept confidential and used solely for emergency purposes, and you are welcome to reach out if you have any questions!
