Our Executive Director, Renita White, Selected

as a 2024 AARP Purpose Prize Fellow

We are excited to share that Renita White has been named a 2024 AARP Purpose Prize Fellow for her work with Of Color, Inc. Of Color, Inc. is a one-stop-shop social service agency serving individuals and families throughout Chicago. The agency helps community residents find stable jobs and housing. Resources like trauma-informed counseling and employment readiness training set them up for success, as do the connections with employment partners and housing linkages.

The AARP Purpose Prize Award supports AARP’s mission by honoring remarkable people ages 50 and older who tap into the power of their life experiences to build a better future for us all. Armed with wisdom and an accumulating wealth of knowledge, they are a powerhouse of innovation, tackling some of the greatest societal challenges while inspiring others to do the same.

“Our Purpose Prize winners and fellows are shining examples of a simple, yet profound truth: When we find our sense of purpose — that certain something that gives us a reason to get up and get going every day — we not only give meaning to our own lives, we make the world a better place for everyone,” said AARP CEO, Jo Ann Jenkins.
