ECI is honored to present the Peterson-30 Award to Francisco X. Urueta, recognizing his exceptional service, leadership, and dedication over the past year. Named in tribute to Mr. John Peterson, CPESC #30, this award celebrates volunteers whose contributions exemplify the highest standards of professionalism and commitment—qualities that Mr. Urueta embodies fully.

ECI President, Robert Anderson had the following statement about Mr. Urueta, “Paco has served on the Board of Directors and as an International Liaison for EnviroCert. While many within our organization may never hear his name, this in no way diminishes the significant impact of his tireless volunteer service, hard work, and advocacy for ECI and the broader stormwater community. Paco is the consummate professional and a true statesman, representing EnviroCert with integrity, thoughtfulness, and respect in every engagement. We are all very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with him, both personally and professionally, and he is most deserved of EnviroCert’s Peterson (Volunteer of the Year) Award”.



We extend our deepest appreciation to Mr. Urueta for his outstanding contributions to ECI and to the erosion and sediment control community worldwide. In recognition of his achievements, his name will be added to the Peterson-30 memorial plaque displayed at the ECI office, and on the ECI website as a lasting tribute to his service and leadership.

EnviroCert International is honored to present the Gillstrap / Employee of the Year Award to Susanne Watson, in recognition of her exceptional dedication, professionalism, and service throughout the year. This award carries special meaning, as it is named in memory of the late Jerry Gillstrap, whose legacy continues to guide and inspire our organization.

Jerry was a remarkable member of the ECI family; an integral part of building our brand, and living out the values of honesty, integrity, and pride in one’s work. His life of service, as a Vietnam Veteran, law enforcement officer, and compassionate volunteer, left an indelible mark on everyone privileged to know him. He embodied the very best of ECI.

Susanne’s contributions this year reflect that same spirit. Her dedication to excellence, willingness to go above and beyond, and unwavering support for both staff and Certified Professionals have had a meaningful impact across the organization. Her hard work and steady commitment exemplify the qualities this award was created to honor.
